<p><strong>For Morning (weekday and weekend) Boot Camps:</strong><br />
1. 45 minutes before the scheduled class, we will check the outdoor conditions and<a href="http://www.weather.com/weather/map/interactive?animation=true"> Weather in Motion</a> to determine if the class should be cancelled.<br />
2. We make the call for every bootcamp at least 45 min before class. (for example, when there is a 6:00am bootcamp, the class will be cancelled by 5:15am)<br />
3. A cancellation email will be sent to your email account that we have on file and the class will be shown as cancelled online.<br />
4. We will update our<a href="http://facebook.com/teamifit"> Facebook Fan Page</a> with the cancellation(s).  We recommend you become a fan so you can stay in the loop.</p>
<p><strong>For Evening Boot Camps:</strong><br />
1. We follow the weather conditions and predictions via <a href="http://www.weather.com/weather/map/interactive?animation=true"> Weather in Motion</a> throughout the afternoon.<br />
2. By 5 o&#8217;clock, we make the call for ALL evening bootcamps based on the live interactive weather map.<br />
3. A cancellation email will be sent to your email account that we have on file and the class will be shown as cancelled online.<br />
4. We will update our<a href="http://facebook.com/teamifit"> Facebook Fan Page</a> with the cancellation(s).  We recommend you become a fan so you can stay in the loop.</p>
<p>Since Chicago weather changes last minute and be quite unpredictable at times, we encourage you to use your discretion if a bootcamp has not been cancelled and the weather seems to be taking a turn for the worse.  If it begins raining, thundering, and/or lightening right before the bootcamp begins, the instructor will stay in the location 15-minutes to inform you of the cancellation (unless the conditions are unsafe).</p>
<p>We apologize in advance if we cancel a class and it does not end up raining, thundering, and/or lightening  as predicted. For any outdoor bootcamp(s) that are cancelled, a complimentary indoor class can be taken at TEAMiFIT on the same day of the cancelled outdoor bootcamp(s).  We highly encourage you to email us your class preference since we have limited spaces available.</p>

<p>I was not always as fit as I am today.  Not by any stretch of the imagination.  Back in 2007, I weighed 165 lbs and was in the worst shape of my life.  I exercised about once a week (if that) and while I understood the importance of eating healthy and staying active, I did not find the time to make those things a priority.  (And if you have a hard time believing this…check out my “before” picture!)</p>
<p>And then things got a little bit scary.  In February 2007, I was driving to work one day and started getting severe chest pain.  I thought I might be having a heart attack…but is that even possible at only 23 years old?  So I checked myself into the emergency room that morning and was diagnosed with a thickening mitral valve in my heart.  The doctor suggested I cut caffeine out of my diet and begin exercising more frequently.</p>
<p>From that day forward, I made fitness a priority.  I did not want to compromise my health any more.  After all, health is THE MOST valuable thing any of us will ever have.  So I began taking TurboKick classes at the gym and doing the TurboJam DVD at home.  I got hooked on these formats because they were fun.  Then, I incorporated Shakeology into my diet and things really started taking off!  Before I knew it, the pounds started coming off.  I dropped 30 lbs and had crazy energy.  Oh, and those horrible chest pains – gone!</p>
<p>Now flash forward to present day.  I am now a group fitness instructor, teaching four classes a week and I am in the best shape of my life.  Me, a group fitness instructor?  Who would have ever thought!?  I have transformed my life in so many ways.  Physically, of course…but I also have way more energy, confidence and motivation than ever before.  Now I want to help others get on the right track to living a long, healthy and fit life.  It is possible; all you have to do is make the same decision I did back in 2007 to make fitness a priority.  If I could do it, anyone can!</p>

<p>I thank the Lord for having a beautiful and healthy one-year-old daughter.  It is the best gift I have ever had, especially because she was born around Christmas.  A baby can only bring blessings and happiness.   That said, all new mothers share one problem since they not only have ‘baby weight’ to lose (which is hard enough as it is), but also new mothers have very little time to themselves for a workout!  It takes dedication and focus to lose the baby weight and get back into shape.</p>
<p>During my pregnancy, I gained 30 pounds.  I didn’t even want to look at photos of me before the pregnancy, as I thought I’d lost that body forever.  After having the baby, I was getting desperate because the extra weight did not go away on its own.  Suffice to say I was not happy with my new body and the way I looked.  My clothing did not fit me. I had to buy bigger sizes because I did not have anything to wear.  I went from size zero to size six.  That was a big difference.  Then, I looked myself in the mirror and I said, “I need to do something about this!” I began with a healthy diet and physical activity.  Next, I began to think about what sort of physical activity I needed to do to lose the weight and get fit again.</p>
<p>I have spent most of my life dancing, but I never took fitness seriously.  This time, I needed to find a workout that didn’t take very long and was the best ‘bang for a buck’.  I thought about going back to dancing, but dancing was not enough to lose weight.  So, I decided to do Zumba.  Why Zumba? Because Zumba is a fat burning, body shaping, high energy and fun workout program.  Defenitaly, you can born up to 500 to 800 calories in a class and of course, you can born more, it all depends on your intensity and fitness level.</p>
<p>I’ve done all types of dancing and aerobics classes (salsa, samba, step, kickboxing, etc.), but for me the combination of dancing AND aerobics makes a very enjoyable, efficient and awesome fat burning workout.</p>
<p>I started with a few workouts in my house and with friends, but eventually I went to a Zumba certification class and started teaching Zumba.  I know the weight loss was gradual, but within a few months of starting Zumba workouts, the baby weight began to fall off.  Within a few months I’d lost the 30 extra pounds and even a few extra pounds!  That’s right, thanks to a healthy diet and doing Zumba, I weigh less than before my pregnancy, and I feel very fit.  Now my daughter is one year old, and when I look back at pictures of me shortly after the pregnancy, it’s hard to believe I ever worried about getting back in shape.</p>

If so, we’ve got you covered!  We’ll work together to reach our goals and keep each other accountable, and as long as you are a member at TEAMiFIT, this program is INCLUDED in your membership.</p>
<p><strong>What is the TEAMiFIT Lifestyle Challenge and what does it include?</strong><br />
The TEAMiFIT Lifestyle Challenge is an ongoing program encouraging members to stay healthy from the inside-out in all areas of their lives. A new theme for the program starts every six weeks, and at the beginning of this period you can write your lifestyle goals relating to fitness, nutrition, work, relationships, social, and whatever else you choose on a goal sheet.  You’ll fill these sheets out anonymously and we’ll hang them throughout the lobby to encourage you throughout the program.  At the end of the six weeks, you will have the opportunity to fill out a transformation story and share your story to encourage others.  All goals are always a work in progress, which is why this is an ongoing challenge.   In addition to goal tracking, you can also take advantage of these awesome program incentives…</p>
<p><span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>-Buddy System</strong></span><br />
You can choose a buddy or we can pair you up with one for motivation, encouragement in nutrition tracking, and accountability via an online spreadsheet.  TEAMiFIT, you, and your buddy will have live access to edit, view, and leave feedback in this document. We&#8217;re here to encourage you, help you stay on track, and give you ideas.  So check it out!<br />
<span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>-Workout Tracking</strong></span><br />
We will have a cheesy sticker chart in our lobby where you can track your workouts each time you come in to Get Yo’ FIT On!  Just like in kindergarten, you get a smiley face for doing well!  One sticker per visit, NOT class.<br />
<span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong> </strong></span> <span style="color: #ff0000;"><strong>-New Friends, Smiles, and Community!</strong></span></p>
<p><strong>What do I have to do to sign up?</strong><br />
When you check in at TEAMiFIT to workout, take a goal sheet from the front desk.  Once you fill out your sheet and choose a fun anonymous name, we will hang your sheet in the lobby.  You can sign up after we begin the program but we recommend you start at the beginning.</p>
<p>If you would like us to pair you up with a buddy, please check that option on your challenge sheet and we will connect you with somebody who we know will be able to help you with your goals.  Once we pair you with your buddy, we will contact you with all the information you need to get started.<br />
<strong><br />
What if my membership expires mid-program? </strong><br />
Unfortunately this program is only for our dedicated members.  If you do not plan to continue your membership, we still encourage you to follow the program as long as you a member with us!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<h2 style="text-align: center;"><strong>Roadblocks ONLY Make Us Stronger!</strong></h2>
<p>What can you do TODAY to follow your desired footsteps?  Sometimes we need to check, re-check, evaluate, re-evaluate, and make some changes.  Curve balls are part of our lives and how we react to and evaluate them shapes our lives.  We create our realities, let’s rock out 2010 warrior-style!  Ain’t nothin’ gonna hold us back from our desired paths!</p>
<p>Ok, now Get Yo’ Read On!</p>
<p>1. <strong>THE LAW OF NEUTRAL POSITION.</strong> You can not know whether you are going in the right direction and plan your route, while you are driving at full speed. If you are always busy trying to achieve one goal after another, you have no time to ask yourself, if this is what you truly want. To make any changes in your life you have to first stop and only after that change direction.</p>
<p>2. <strong>THE LAW OF A STRAIGHT LINE.</strong> The shortest distance between two points is a straight line. To find the shortest way to your goal you just have to know two coordinates – your current position and the position of your goal. If you do not know where you are going, the chances are that you will get lost and continue to go in circles.</p>
<p>3. <strong>THE LAW OF TAXI.</strong> The moment you let another person drive you, you give them full control of the car and the route that you take. Similar, if you let another person place priorities in your life, you will end up following their path, instead of yours. It is also not a secret that the longer you stay in the cab, the more it will cost you and the longer it will take you to get back. If you do not like where you are going in life, it is probably time to take the initiative back into your hands.</p>
<p>4. <strong>THE LAW OF EMPTY SPACE.</strong> You cannot bring a new closet into a room without throwing away the old one. There simply will not be enough space. You have to take out the old garments and objects first, than clean up the space and only after that can you fill this space with something new. Similar to change your life, you have to eliminate old beliefs that are no longer serving you and only then will you be able to replace them with the positive ones.</p>
<p>5. <strong>THE LAW OF A MAGNIFYING GLASS.</strong> Neither of us has an objective perception of reality. Every person is limited by their own past experience, beliefs, and vision of life. We magnify those details that we are actively looking for. If we concentrate our attention on the problems, they become bigger and more terrifying. If you direct your attention to positive areas of life, they expand. There is only one way to change your reality, shift your focus and make it positive.</p>
<p>6. <strong>THE LAW OF UNPREDICTABILITY.</strong> We cannot objectively take into account all the possibilities and obstacles that we will have to face on the way to our goal. Therefore, you cannot predict everything that might happen. While having a good step-by-step plan is an important part of successful goal setting, it should be flexible enough to adapt to what life may throw your way.</p>
<p>7. <strong>THE LAW OF SNOWBALL EFFECT.</strong> We are motivated a lot more by current problems than by future benefits. Problems are given to us to help us grow and learn valuable lessons. By ignoring one problem we are provoking a snowball effect. One problem drags along another one and then another one, until the pile of problems becomes too huge to be ignored. If we are not motivated to learn our lessons the easy way, we will have to learn them anyway, only the hard way.</p>
<p>8. <strong>THE LAW OF LIMITATION.</strong> The universe has an unlimited number of opportunities and choices. Our energy is limited though. That is why we need to choose wisely what we spend it on. We cannot have everything we want at the same time. By focusing on one goal at a time we will not feel so overwhelmed. Know your priorities, otherwise you might end up with a whole bunch of things you do not really need.</p>
<p>9. <strong>THE LAW OF INERTIA.</strong> If something is moving, it will keep moving until something else stops it. If something is not moving, it will just sit there until something comes along to move it. It is safe to say that until one takes action to achieve something, you will not see any results, because you will remain a “body at rest”. However, even a tiny action towards your goal is sufficient to create momentum and overcome inertia (also known as “procrastination”).</p>
