I saw the Yelp promotion for a first-timer free class and couldn’t resist, so I went to the “Shredded” class.

I run marathons and this class completely kicked my ass. Many, many times during the class, I thought, “OH MY GOD, WHY ISN’T THIS HOUR OVER YET?!” while my arms hung like limp noodles.

The classes are small enough that you get personal attention and can chat up your instructor. They’re also tough and guarantee you a great workout. There’s no dilly-dallying here; there are very few breaks and it’s just a continuous ass-whooping. The monthly membership is $69 for unlimited classes, which is an awesome deal. I will definitely be back! Kai (via Yelp) December 12, 2009

TeamiFit has it all. A challenging range of classes that incorporate cardio and strength training, a knowledgeable, friendly and passionate staff of instructors, a convenient location and a great bang for your fitness buck. I can’t say enough positive things about both the concept and the execution of TeamiFit.

I got involved this summer by participating in the outdoor bootcamps and as luck would have it they opened the indoor studio a few weeks later just blocks away from my office! After a few introductory classes I was hooked and I didn’t hesitate to sign up for their membership, which was a steal at $60 per month for unlimited classes (I think the price has since gone up a little since then).

TeamiFit offers a variety of classes like strength boxing, Zumba, power yoga, Turbo Kick….and the list goes on. While each class is different in focus, they all offer a killer workout that will leave you feeling strong, energized and sweaty! I am a lifetime exerciser and I have never experienced more satisfaction or better results than I have with the TeamiFit regimen. Every week I go online and schedule my classes and every single time I arrive at the studio I am greeted by an encouraging and energetic staff that pushes me to push myself.

What sets TeamiFit apart from the dozens of other types of group classes I’ve tried, is the instructors commitment to providing each student with a well rounded efficient work out every time. They do that by incorporating strength and cardio into each class and by demonstrating how to correctly do each exercise. They also demonstrate different ‘levels’ for each exercise so that students of various fitness abilities can find the level provides the right amount of challenge.

I have not been to the gym once since I joined TeamiFit and I couldn’t be happier. The variety of classes offered in their two studios are scheduled during convenient post-work hours and one hour long class a few times a week is all you need to start feeling great and seeing results. I used to make excuses and to skip the gym, now I am making excuses to skip other things so that I can get in my workouts at TeamiFit. Deirdre (via Yelp), December 7, 2009

Hey, fellas — you should try this out. I reluctantly ended up trying it out because my girlfriend signed us both up for a Groupon trial period. But after a month, I was the one who decided to sign up for the summer! I was really surprised to see a good mix of both guys and girls show up for what turned into a really good workout that’s different every time. And the instructor led the exercises in different variations so that you could push yourself as hard as you wanted. If you’re anything like me, and get bored running on the treadmill like a hamster on a wheel, you should totally check this out. I’m really happy with it–and if you like to meet people, break up the routine, and get in shape, then you will too. So even if you’re just a little curious, give it a shot! The more the merrier! The Zumba instructor has so much energy you forget you’re working out…. And totally agreed with the other review on here – you wake up sore – but you don’t really know why because you just had fun – so why are you so sore the next morning???………. Oh yeah….. Squats…. I remember now…. Lots of squats…..

Bring a water bottle and a towel. You’ll need both. Be prepared to sweat your a$$ off…… Music starts and you just GO for an hour…..J.J (via Yelp) June 19, 2009

Before joining TEAMIFIT, my workout routine was getting pretty boring. I was alternating between muscle groups every three days, workout out alone, and maintaining – but not advancing – my strength and fitness. After just a handful of sessions and a few weeks, I’m hooked on TEAMIFIT! I went out of town for 10 days and made my own variety bootcamps for my travel buddy and me. She was super annoyed with the tough workouts, but neither of us packed on any extra vacation pounds! An added benefit – I can finally do push-ups, which I have never been able to do before! Most importantly, I feel great, although a little sore some days after a tough session… :) Meghan P, June 12, 2009

LOVE THESE CLASSES! My favorite part is that the instructors teach most classes for all fitness levels. I am a beginner and always do level 1 exercises. There are many men and women in class who are very fit and do level 3-4+ of the same exercise. Everyone gets a great workout and the classes are FUN! I highly recommend the MMA (mixed martial arts) Bootcamp and Strictly Core (TONS of abs) classes. All classes I have attended so far have been awesome and the instructors are very inspiring! Tuesday’s zumba class at Lake/Carpenter is one of the best, most entertaining work-outs in Chicago! The instructor, Julie S., uses upbeat current music combined with the latest dance moves to create a killer 60 minutes of sweat. My thighs were screaming at me when I was done – and I didn’t even know why! It’s a lot of fun. Julie is extremely encouraging and knowledgeable, which is great for a zumba beginner! Jennifer S. My instructor Amy was amazing and fun and this class really kick-started my “last-minute-summer-is-comin-I-better-get-in-shape-to-fit-in-that-darn-bikini” routine. I am an avid fitness fad guru and have tried it all (hot yoga, aerial yoga, ballet/pilates, marathons, weight-training, etc) and this class was right up there as my favorite. It was outdoors with the city as the backdrop and used stairs and hills to really change the pace and difficulty level. It worked every muscle, I definitely felt it the next day… and the day after. Even though it is called “boot camp”, you can go at your own pace and Amy was good enough to give us 3-4 options for each exercise. It was awesome and I would definitely go back! Alka D.
